Privacy Policy

Effective April 14, 2026

1. Who we are

LibraryAI (“the Service”) is operated by Daniil Sukhov, an individual developer. Contact: dan2004005@gmail.com. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our website (https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app), the LibraryAI mobile application, and related connected services.

2. What the Service does

LibraryAI is a personal reading companion: you can build a bookshelf, track reading goals and streaks, discover readers, follow public libraries, see activity notifications, and request AI-assisted book recommendations. On mobile, optional push notifications remind you about reading streaks and social activity (for example new followers or invites), when you allow notifications on your device.

3. Information we process

Account and profile. When you create an account we process the email address and password you provide (passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider). We also store profile-related data you choose to add (such as display name, handle, public share link for your library, and preferences synced with your account).

Your content. Data you add is stored with your account—for example books on your shelf, reading status, goals, notes, and social connections (follows, friend requests, subscriptions to other users’ public activity).

Push notifications (mobile). If you grant permission, the app registers an Expo push token and may store it together with your user id and device platform so we can deliver notifications you expect (social updates, streak reminders, pair-reading invites, and similar in-app events). You can turn off notifications in your device settings for the app.

Support messages. If you use in-app Support (mobile) or equivalent contact flows, we store your user id, the email we have on file, and the message text you send so we can respond.

Book search metadata. To find and add books, the app queries the Open Library API (openlibrary.org). Your search terms are sent to Open Library under their own terms and privacy practices; we do not control that service.

Subscriptions. Paid plans are completed through our website (checkout in the browser), not inside Apple’s In-App Purchase for that flow on iOS. The payment provider on the website receives billing details you enter there; we receive subscription status needed to unlock features.

We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in our mobile app for profiling or ad targeting.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for); legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, improving reliability, sending service-related notifications you have opted into); and consent where required (for example device notifications). You may withdraw consent for notifications at any time in system settings.

5. How long we keep data

We keep your account and content while your account exists and as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete your account or request deletion where our backend supports it; contact us at the email above if you need help.

6. Sharing and processors

We use service providers to run the Service: Supabase (hosted database, authentication, and related infrastructure), Expo’s push notification service (mobile) to deliver notifications to your device, and our website at https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app for account sync, recommendations, checkout links, and related APIs. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements and safeguards appropriate to the service.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and row-level security on the database so users generally access only their own data and what others intentionally make public. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact dan2004005@gmail.com to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses approved by regulators.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is available in the LibraryAI mobile app and on this page at https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app/privacy (the URL to use in App Store Connect and similar listings). Effective date above (currently April 14, 2026). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy where allowed by law.
