Terms of Service

Effective April 14, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LibraryAI, including the website at https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app and the mobile application (together, the “Service”), operated by Daniil Sukhov (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Contact: dan2004005@gmail.com.

2. The service

LibraryAI helps you manage a personal bookshelf, set reading goals, track streaks and statistics, connect with other readers (including public libraries and social features), receive optional notifications, and use AI-assisted recommendations based on your shelf and preferences. Features may change as we improve the product.

3. Eligibility and account

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live and meet any minimum age required by applicable law (including rules for children’s data). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful, harassing, or hateful conduct; no attempting to break security, scrape or overload systems in an abusive way, or interfere with other users’ experience. Do not upload malware or try to access data you are not permitted to see. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose risk to the service.

5. Your content and license to us

You retain rights to content you add (such as notes and library data). You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, store, process, display, and transmit your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service—including showing information to other users according to your privacy and sharing settings.

6. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Some features require an active subscription after any free trial we offer. Subscription purchase and payment are handled on our website (https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app) through a checkout flow opened in your device browser, using the payment provider shown at checkout—not through Apple In-App Purchase for that web checkout path. Prices, billing period, renewal, taxes, and cancellation terms are presented at checkout and in your account on the website where applicable.

If a charge fails or a subscription ends, paid features may be restricted until you renew. Refunds, if any, follow the policy of the payment provider and applicable law.

7. Third-party services

The Service uses third-party services including Supabase (authentication and data hosting), Expo push notifications (mobile), Open Library for book metadata search, and APIs on https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app. Their availability and terms are outside our full control; we are not responsible for third-party failures except as required by law.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its branding, and our materials are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited rights to use the service granted here, you receive no ownership rights. Feedback you give us may be used without obligation to you.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. AI RECOMMENDATIONS ARE INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD 50), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW (FOR EXAMPLE, DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE WHERE MANDATORY LAW APPLIES).

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account where the product allows. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if we must comply with law, or if we discontinue the service with reasonable notice where practicable.

12. Changes

We may modify these Terms or the Service. The current version is available in the LibraryAI mobile app and on this page at https://bookshelf-f9y7n6ndn-taptableapp6-1917s-projects.vercel.app/terms. Effective date above (currently April 14, 2026). Material changes may require additional notice where required by law. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where your explicit consent is required.

13. Governing law and disputes

Unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country says otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to contracts between you, as a consumer, and an individual developer in your place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction over consumer disputes in your country may hear claims where required by law.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service (subject to any additional terms shown at checkout for subscriptions).
